Your primary responsibilities
Work within a team of experienced CMOS image sensor engineers to design and layout analog and mixed-signal IC circuits.
Skills and education requirements
You should have a Master’s or Ph.D. Degree in Electronics, Physics, or a related discipline, and be interested in pursuing a long-term career in the field of analog/mixed-signal integrated circuits for CMOS image sensors. Additionally, you must have hands-on experience beyond university courses designing analog integrated circuits, either professionally or during your Master’s or Ph.D. thesis project. You should have most of the following skills and experiences:
- A solid fundamental understanding of electronic circuits, both analog and digital.
- Knowledge of microelectronic technology.
- Familiarity with the specifications and basic design of blocks like bandgaps, LDOs, amplifiers, or ADCs.
- Custom IC design and layout experience using tools like Cadence Virtuoso or Synopsys Custom Compiler.
- Experience successfully addressing complex DRC and LVS tasks.
- Proficiency in simulating analog circuits and ensuring designs comply with stringent specifications.
- Experience running Monte Carlo and corner simulations.
- Ability to learn quickly and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Great attention to detail and the ability to add order to complex and undefined situations.

Your primary responsibilities
- Lead and be responsible for the design and physical implementation of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for CMOS image sensors.
- Develop advanced pixel architectures
- Define the best readout chain for each application.
- Be responsible for the verification and tape-out of CMOS image sensors.
- Guide the sensor characterization team to test the sensors your team has designed.
Skills and education requirements
You should have a Masters’s or Ph.D. Degree in Electronics or Physics and have at least 4 years of professional experience designing CMOS image sensors. We will also consider very strong candidates with professional analog IC design experience interested in pursuing a career in the field of CMOS image sensors. You should have most of the following skills and experiences:
- Strong knowledge of pixel design, sensor architecture and fabrication processes;
- You have designed sensors with different pixel types (3T, 4T, global shutter, HDR, BSI, CDS…)
- You understand digital design, timing constrains and the P&R process;
- You have simulated complex image sensors and other analog/mixed-signal IC systems;
- You have hands-on experience with the layout of complex analog blocks in tight spaces and know how to deal with parasitics.
- Four years of experience with design tools such as Synopsys Custom Compiler, Cadence Virtuoso and Siemens (Mentor Graphics) Calibre.
- TCAD simulation experience for pixel optimization
- Have great attention to detail and be able to add order to complex and undefined situations;
- Able to work independently and to deliver quality work according to project schedules;
- Very good team player: take ownership of assigned tasks, seek help when required and have an inclination to help others;
- Able to take and give constructive criticism;

Your primary responsibilities
- Lead and be responsible for the design and physical implementation of digital integrated circuit for CMOS image sensors.
- Define the architectures for the internal control of our multi megapixel, high-speed image sensors and to transmit the data off-chip.

Skills and education requirements
You should have a Bachelor’s or, preferably, Master’s Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related discipline . You should be interested in developing a career in the field of digital design and be interested in image sensor and imaging technology. We will consider engineers with different levels of experience as we have multiple opening in this area. You should have most of the following skills, with the depth of knowledge according to the number of years of experience in the field:
- Good fundamentals of electronic circuits, both analog and digital.
- Knowledge of microelectronic technology;
- You can design digital blocks using System Verilog;
- Your RTL code follows best-practices and is easy to maintain;
- You have experience setting up complex verification environments and running simulations with VCS and other digital simulators;
- You have experience integrating third-party IP like transceivers or memory blocks.
- Very deep understanding of the physical implementation digital flow, from synthesis to P&R, including timing closure, clock trees, physical verification.
- You have experience opening a final P&R layout to debug some issues in your reports.
- You have faced challenging timing problems and have found solutions both at the architecture level, RTL design and physical implementation.
- You know how to setup tools like Synopsys Desing Compiler and ICC2.
- You can program quickly Python scripts to process the reports generated by these tools;
- Have great attention to detail and be able to add order to complex and undefined situations;

Your primary responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing complete electronics systems to capture, process and display images of our CMOS image sensors. The work will include:
- the design of PCBs interfacing the sensors with a PC;
- the development of the Firmware for the FPGA handling the communication between the sensor and the PC as well as controlling the sensor;
- the development of the test software running on a PC (Linux and Windows);
- the test and characterization of CMOS image sensors.
Skills and education requirements
You should have a Bachelor’s or, preferably, a Master’s Degree in Electronics or Experimental Physics and have at least 4 years of professional experience designing advanced electronic HW systems. You should have most of the following skills and experiences:
- Verilog or VHDL programming for FPGAs;
- Hands-on experience with Vivado and Vitis tools for Xilinx FPGAs;
- Deep knowledge of FPGA architectures from Xilinx, Altera, Microchip or Lattice;
- Design of PCB-level power-management systems with LDOs and low-power DC-DC;
- Design of acquisition systems with ADC, DACs and low-noise amplifiers.
- High-speed communication systems and protocols;
- MIPI D-PHY/CSI-2 interfaces;
- Camera Link, GigE or other high-speed camera interfaces;
- Experience designing systems with LVDS, I2C interfaces;
- Complex PCB design with high-speed signals (10Gbps) with more than 10 layers using micro-vias and selecting materials appropriate for a specific applications;
- Altium or similar PCB design software;
- Hand-on experience troubleshooting in the lab difficult problems with prototype designs using oscilloscopes and other instruments;
- Python, C programming;
- Intermediate-level Linux administration knowledge is a plus;
- Experience with imaging and camera systems is a strong plus.

Projects offered
Design of Analog/Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuits for Image Sensors
At IMASENIC, we create cutting-edge image sensor ICs for medical, scientific, and industrial use. This project involves designing and laying out analog/mixed-signal CMOS circuits for on-chip power management. You will work on positive and negative charge pumps, LDOs, and gain insights into CMOS image sensor design. This role is perfect for those eager to kickstart a career in analog IC design and semiconductors, working alongside experienced engineers in the field.
Design of On-Chip Digital Systems for CMOS Image Sensors
IMASENIC designs highly programmable image sensors that are amenable to different applications. In this project you will design new programmable sequencers to generate the on-chip signals that orchestrate the operation of the different elements of an image sensor (pixel array, column ADC, data serializer, …). You will gain hands-on experience with the complete digital flow ― from architecture definition and RTL design to physical implementation.
Development of FPGA Systems for Image Sensor Data Processing
IMASENIC develops advanced cameras for medical, scientific, and industrial applications based on our custom image sensors. In this project, you will work on the development of FPGA-based architectures and firmware for the implementation of on-board image correction algorithms. You will deepen your understanding of advanced digital design, FPGA systems, and image signal processors.
SDK and GUI development for X-ray cameras
IMASENIC is a leading supplier of image sensors for radiographic imaging used in medical and industrial applications. We are looking for a student interested in working with a team of experienced engineers to develop Software Development Kits (SDK) to help our customers speed up the development of the most advanced X-ray imaging cameras enabled by our image sensors. The student will also develop advanced GUIs for our cameras. In this project you will hone your skills in Python, C/C++, networking, and imaging systems development.
